Strevi DOC, a passito type wine, is known for its rich golden color. It has an intense aroma with notes of honey, acacia, and dried fruit, primarily figs. The taste is sweet and full-bodied, with a balanced acidity that adds a refreshing quality to this dessert wine.

History

Strevi DOC originates from the Piedmont region of Italy, an area with a rich history of winemaking dating back to the Romans. The wine gets its name from the town of Strevi, where Moscato grapes have been cultivated since the 18th century. The Strevi DOC was officially recognized in 1990 and is renowned for its Moscato Passito, a sweet wine made from dried grapes.

Geographical Production Area

The Strevi DOC is produced in a small area in the Alessandria province in Piedmont. The region is characterized by its unique microclimate and calcareous-clayey soils, ideal for growing Moscato grapes. The vineyards are located on steep slopes, which allow for excellent sun exposure and optimal ripening of the grapes.
