Choapa Valley

Choapa Valley

Choapa Valley, situated at the narrowest stretch of Chile, where the Andes and Coastal Mountains merge, is 400 km north of Santiago. This petite valley, divided into two sections, Illapel and Salamanca, is renowned for its exceptional Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The vineyards, thriving in the stony piedmont soils, yield a limited but highly prized harvest. The grapes, known for their high acidity and low pH, contribute to the distinctive character of the region's wine.
