Climate and soil Uco Valley's unique terroir is characterized by its cool, semi-arid climate and a high-altitude setting. With over 300 sunny days per year, the vineyards enjoy ample sunlight, while the large diurnal temperature variation ensures a slow, balanced ripening of the grapes. The region receives scanty rainfall, resulting in a reliance on pure, glacial meltwater for irrigation. The alluvial soil, rich in gravel and sand, provides excellent drainage and imparts a distinctive minerality to the wines.
