Circeo DOC is a red wine characterized by a ruby red color that tends to garnet with aging. On the nose, you can identify notes of red fruits, particularly cherry, accompanied by spicy hints of pepper and licorice. On the palate, it is warm, full-bodied, and well balanced in terms of acidity.

History

The Circeo DOC was established in 1996, but the tradition of viticulture in the region dates back to the times of ancient Rome. The area, named after the mythical Circe, is known for its fertile vineyards that produce high-quality grapes.

Geographical Production Area

Circeo DOC is produced in the coastal area of the Lazio region in western central Italy. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the Circeo promontory, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. The unique microclimate, characterized by mild winters and hot, dry summers, along with the sandy soil, is particularly suited for the production of this wine.
