Castelli Romani DOC is a white wine known for its straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. It offers an intense and fruity aroma, dominated by apple, pear, and in some versions, tropical fruit notes. On the palate, it is fresh, soft, and well-balanced, with a pleasantly persistent aftertaste.

History

The wine's name, 'Castelli Romani', refers to a group of comuni in the Metropolitan City of Rome. Winemaking in this region dates back to ancient Roman times, and it was highly esteemed by Roman emperors. The wine gained its DOC status in 1973, being one of the first in the Lazio region.

Geographical Production Area

Castelli Romani DOC is produced in the Alban Hills of the Lazio region, in the heart of Italy. The area, rich in volcanic soil, combined with a mild and temperate climate, provides an excellent environment for the growth of grapes. These unique conditions give the wine its distinctive taste and aroma.
